The largest pearl of the world is just found in Palawan, Philippines. It was just kept by the fisherman for more than 10 years and recently put on the public display. The gigantic pearl was founded by a fisherman while fishing in the deep waters of Puerto Princesa, a city capital of Palawan province. After that, he kept this mighty earl under his bed for the sack of ‘good luck. He was just unaware of the real economic value of this pearl.
According to information officer Richard Ligad that the good luck has indeed come because the fisherman has not signed any donation to the place, therefore the pearl is totally his property. As talk about the measurements, it has size 30 x 60 cm and has weight more than 34 kilogram which is just under the 75 pounds. It has also beat the current record-holder, the pearl of Allah/Lao Tzu. As the weight of this pearl is way more than the previous record-holder.
The previous one, The Pearl of Allah was also found in Palawan in the 1930s. Because gemologists appraised it at tens of millions of dollars, the new pearl looks to be a really good catch.
So, for now, the new pearl sits comfortably in the atrium of the New Green City Hall in Puerto Princesa, making its days under the bed finally over.
