Korean-American Professor Couple have Discovered new Cause of Autism

A Korea Scientist couple who are both working as a professor at the Prestigious Universities in the United States has provided a major cause of Autism. They proved that there are certain bacteria in the digestive tract of the mother can lead to having an autistic child. Despite, they also found the exact location of the brain linked with the autistic behavior. This can also help us to find the cure of Autism.

In this context, a science journal ‘Nature’ has published the research studies of this couple on 14th September. Huh, Jun-ryeol is the professor at Harvard Medical School while Gloria Choi is MIT’s Professor. These studies explained the detailed process of a pregnant mouse. The mouse was infected by a virus and it shows autistic behavior.

So they have found some bacteria in the digestive chart of the mother which can develop immune cells. These immune cells directly influence brain cell development of a baby. When these researchers removed this certain bacteria with antibiotics then the mouse had a normal baby mouse.

The Professor couple said that there is a synergy effect when they worked together on a research. Professor Huh said that when we were working on research together in two different labs when sending every kind of support for each other instead of measuring whose work even better. He also explained that their fields of studies are different as they are each Immunology and Neurobiology. Therefore, it actually helps us researching on a new field Neuroimmunology.
